Emma F Wright is a British born photographer based in Nottingham. She is widely known for her captivating iPhone photographs of streets and reflections, which have led to many publications of her work. Since 2017 she has been capturing these photos on an iPhone. She loves mobile photography and always has her iPhone with her which means that she is constantly alert to capture that candid moment without being too obtrusive. Her interest lies predominantly in street photography and when the opportunity arises she tries to capture an element of reflection as she has a large affinity to water in all its forms.

Whilst growing up Emma spent her summer holidays with her grandmother by the sea in Norway, she gave her an appreciation of nature. There Emma gained a great love for being by water, which appears in many forms in her photographs.

A fine art background has given her the discipline to observe what at first may appear to be a very mundane subject and see a variety of qualities in it. Her work is rich in the breadth of subjects from architecture and the interaction of people and animals in the environment. Viewing the same location and subject matter can have totally different qualities depending on the time of day, season and myriad of other factors.

Down by the riverside is where Emma rediscovered her passion for photography. Whilst walking a dog called Alfie for a friend, she took his photo and sent it to her. this was the start of many more. Very soon she started to notice her surroundings and began to photograph other subject matters.

She has studied in Norway and has a profound maternal background with her family of prize winning Norwegian designers and artists, in particular with her great grandfather who was a sculptor and Head of Oslo School of Art in Norway.
